48 x subject cards

One person is question master and operates an alphabet spinning wheel.

One person is question master and operates an alphabet spinning wheel. The number of rounds is decided before the game starts.
Players compete to be the first to name a word relating to a subject read out on a card. A letter of the alphabet is determined by spinning the wheel. The question master reads out a subject and players compete to name a word related to that subject, beginning with that letter. The first to do this, receives the card. The player with most cards, wins.

If the same word is called out, the card is returned to the pack. If different words are called out at the same time, the first alphabetically, wins. The question master call ‘halt’ if no word is called out after a reasonable time. In team play, if a wrong answer is called out, a card is forfeit to the opposing team.

Subjects include;
- an invention, what you desire most, a word reading the same forwards and backwards, a game, a well known football player, what frightens you, a virtue, an advertising slogan, a well known trade or profession, an outstanding sportswoman.

The rules are printed on the inside of the box lid. This is an excellent compact game, perfect for travel. A classic game from the 1950s with a beautiful cover and wonderful use of language. Some of the terminology is outmoded but the game itself stands the test of time well. "A jolly party game for young and old alike. Instructive, humorous and altogether enjoyable."
