| An ingenious, compact game.
|
||||
This is a game based firmly on
the characteristics of selling stocks and shares. Strategies of investors
decisively affect market trends with luck of only secondary importance.
During the game, players must built portfolios of certain shares. There is a useful cash bonus on reaching their objective. However, players should also take advantage of the many
trading opportunities presented during the course of play.
Speculate does not provide a situation in which players win or lose
unrealistic millions but simulates a small investor trying
to increase the value of holdings by modest but vital amounts as in real
life. There is competition with others, each of whom will try to
alter the market. There will be times when players will have the excitement
of seeing their plans bring substantial gains but if the market does not run
their way they will find an equally exciting and challenging situation as
they struggle to hold their portfolios together and avoid the slide into
bankruptcy.
