Players move 4 pawns according to instructions on the board and from cards drawn. The first home, wins.

The rules also describe a single play version, using red and yellow pawns alternately.

This edition;
- patent and trade mark information and numbers on the game board are updated

Some of the descriptions on the ornately designed board cover include;

"The New Card Game.....Interesting - Exciting - Fascinating", "Entirely Original Principle", "Play it and be Glad".

The rule book is very quaint and some of the comments certainly pull no punches;

"These rules will be found sufficient to answer your EVERY query if read SLOWLY and CAREFULLY, laying emphasis on the words in CAPITALS (and italics)". "DON'T FORGET to control your excitement and not make the first move which appears good."
