The rules are structured to teach
the game in stages. Each main section is introduced by
Mentor
,
your teacher. The easiest way to learn how to play is for all players to read
through the rule book together, following the instructions as they are read
out. One player must act as Morcar the evil wizard and control his force of
monsters. The other players are called player characters and
control the 4 would be heroes; the Elf, Dwarf, Wizard and Barbarian.
New in the 1990 edition;
- redesigned instruction book to simplify the introduction
- the mentor dialogue was removed
- The trial replaces The maze as the introductory quest
- sorcerer replaces the chaos sorcerer
- altar replaces the sorcerer's table
- blocked square, pit trap and secret door markers replace tiles
- there are now 6 pit trap markers (originally 4). |
