A racing game of strategy. You are allowed and sometimes forced, to move like the hare or like the tortoise. The challenge is to work out which combination and which route, will win the game.Players choose the distance of each move, forwards (spend carrots) or backwards (gain carrots).
To win you must;
- gain carrots but not too many (maximum 20)
- lose all your lettuce cards
- and then be the first to cross the finish line.

Playing time is approx. 45 minutes. Invented by David Parlett, the well known author of The Penguin book of card games and The Penguin book of patience. First published in the UK, 1973 by Intellect Games and a European bestseller 1979 to 1987. Later produced by Gibsons Games. This Waddingtons edition was uniquely for 2 to 4 players.
