  Get rid of your cards by making or adding to, certain combinations. The player who first gets rid of all 10 cards wins the hand and is paid 3 chips / counters by each of the other players for each card they have left in their hand.
There are seven different combinations that a player can lay or form using the other cards already laid in the pool;
- 1 Pair, 2 cards of the same number or any card plus the joker
- 2 Pairs
- Threes; 3 cards of the same number or one pair plus the joker
- A Straight; 5 cards in numerical order, or 4 cards plus the joker to form 5 cards in numerical order
- Fours; 4 cards bearing the same number or three cards of the same number plus the joker
- Fives; 4 cards each of the same number and the joker
- A full house; 1 pair and a threes, or 2 pairs and the joker

Players are awarded chips from the other players for the hand they lay. The more difficult the combination, the more the chips that are awarded. A set number of 3 chips are awarded if the player makes the hand by adding to any of the hands already laid eg. by converting a pair into a three
The main element of the game is to earn chips/counters. To win, it is not the number of hands won but the number of chips each player has at the end of the game.
