A person attempting suicide would stand on a pail, adjust the noose, then overturn the pail with their feet. This term is now used when referring to anyone's final farewell. Nursery rhyme; This well known children's rhyme comes directly from the Druids, who were ancient Celtic priests and prophets. It was used as part of their ceremony in which a sacrificial victim was chosen. It would be the modern day equivalent of counting one, two, three, four. |
