| 3 types of cards in the game; 1) Billy Buttons cards each show a shirt with 4 colour buttons in a specific order. As soon as one of these cards is turned over, all players race to arrange their buttons likewise. When finished, shout "Billy Buttons" and claim the card. If you're wrong, you must place the black button in your empty buttonhole. 2) Button hole cards each show a shirt with 1 or 2 buttons of a single colour. Players race to count the total number of buttons of that colour on all shirts. The first player to correctly call out the number of buttons claims the card. If you're wrong, take the black button. 3) Black button cards. If you turn over this card, it must be placed in your empty buttonhole and removed first before playing your turn and replaced before finishing. Essentially it is a penalty which slows down your play. If you win the Billy Buttons card despite holding the black button, you may give it to the player of your choice. If you win a button hole card despite holding the black button, you may put it back to the centre of the table. A rare, novel game for children. Younger children may find it easier if the black button and black button cards are removed and the rule about moving the buttons is relaxed. Concept devised by David and Jayne Howard.
